Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship for International Students in Germany for 2023/2024


The Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship for international students is now open for applications for master’s programs.

Applicants of any nationality or discipline interested in issues of international law and human rights who are starting the MPP or MIA program are eligible for the Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship.

Hertie School of Governance, a non-profit private institution of higher learning established in 2003, is situated in the urban area of the sizable city of Berlin (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship – Worth
The whole tuition for the 2-year, full-time Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs programs is covered by the Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship.
Each scholarship pays the entire tuition for the designated Master’s program, up to a maximum of 36,500 EUR.
Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship – Eligibility
All nationalities are eligible.
Acceptable Courses: Full-time, two-year Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs programs
Acceptable Standards: The applicants must satisfy each of the following requirements to be eligible for the Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship:
Applicants from all countries who want to enroll in a 2-year, full-time Master of Public Policy or Master of International Affairs program in Berlin, Germany that is taught in English and offers courses in political science, economics, sociology, or law
Applicants who want to major in public policy or international affairs and have a demonstrated interest in international law and human rights, either academically or professionally
How to Apply
Applications and motivational statements should be submitted by February 1st for consideration.
Applications for the Master of Public Policy (MPP) or Master of International Affairs (MIA) programs must be submitted to be considered for the Hertie School Law and Human Rights Scholarship.
Documents in Support: The following files, along with any letters of recommendation, must be delivered in.pdf format.
current resume with information about education, employment history, and volunteerism
A letter of recommendation (should be 500-900 words)
Copies of all official academic transcripts of universities attended
A replica of the English proficiency test result
After a standard application has been submitted, the additional two-page essay should be delivered.
Requirements for Admission: The following requirements for admission must be met by applicants:
Undergraduate degree: Students must have completed an undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) of at least six semesters to be eligible for a graduate degree from the Hertie School.
Academic background: The Hertie School’s Master’s programs are open to students from all academic backgrounds, although many applicants have degrees in fields connected to public policy and international affairs.
Language Requirement: Applicants (non-native speakers) are exempt from taking the English language test if they have an undergraduate degree from a university where English is the official language of instruction
